After Bella Voce’s gold rating and high score at ISSMA Jazz, they qualified to go to the ISSMA Jazz State Finals. The competition, held at Franklin Central High School, was a success for Bella Voce Choir as they were one of eight choirs in the state to become a finalist. Bella Voce was also selected as the “Best Alto Section” in the state. In the last seven years, Bella Voce has been invited to this competition four times, however, due to musical scheduling they have not been able to attend. With a supportive theatre department behind them, the choir group could attend and bring home their awards. “It felt great being able to go to state because, in the past years, we couldn’t go. The best part of the night was when they announced that we won the best alto section, we all screamed in excitement when we heard that we had won,” Madeline Depa (12) said.
