Advanced Mixed Choir and Advanced Treble went to ISSMA State Finals

Advanced Treble is the second-ever uni-voiced choir to make it to the ISSMA State Finals from the north testing site, which threw them into state-wide record books. The Advanced Mix Chorale has also made state finals two times in a row. Both groups making it as well as Bella Voce (the school’s jazz choir) make this year one to remember as the choirs took home a grand total of 3 state finals on May 3.

Miles Verpooten is a senior at Crown Point High School. Verpooten took photojournalism as a freshman, and this is now his third year on the Excalibur staff. Verpooten is the assistant media director, helping guide other staffers on the proper format for website and social media posts. Verpooten’s favorite part of journalism is sports photography and photo editing. Verpooten is considering a career in digital marketing and becoming a chiropractor.
