P.E. Department chair and teacher Chris Seibert is known by many through the various groups he is a part of. He is the Girls’ Varsity Basketball coach and the sponsor for the Bulldog Mentorship Club, the Bulldog Ambassador program, the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, and the Athletic Council.
“I honestly don’t know if I could pick a favorite club,” Seibert said. “Each one is unique and gives us an opportunity to work with very different kids, but to all make an impact in our community and hopefully develop the future leaders of not only Crown Point High School but also our generation.”
As a teacher, Seibert is able to interact with a plethora of students and know that every day is different.
“I would just say as a teacher, the one thing that I enjoy the most is that no two days are the same,” Seibert said. “You can be as organized and as planned as you want, but each day is unique to itself. Each day presents its own sets of challenges, but also it allows things to stay fresh and allows you to really look forward to coming to work and coming to school.”
With so many different clubs being balanced with coaching and teaching, time management can be a struggle.
“I think it’s a wonderful thing to be busy, but a lot of times there are overlapping things that are going on all at once,” Seibert said. “I think that just trying to make sure that you’re not short-changing any of the clubs, any of the activities, any of your duties as a teacher or a coach, and then obviously as a father and husband with my family.”
Seibert has been coaching for a long time, through all this time he has coached softball, football, and basketball.
“I’ve been coaching girls basketball for the last 16 years as the head varsity coach and I wouldn’t change it for the world,” Seibert said. ”They are fantastic kids and it is such an enjoyable group of people to be around.“
