When someone wants to be heavily involved in school, it can often require lots of time and effort. Wanting to take harder classes, Tyson Abraham (10) had to relearn how to balance all of his academics and clubs. Abraham took a step up in his academic career, going from Algebra 1 to Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra 2. This has given him a higher workload when it comes to school.
“The increase in the amount of work has lessened my free time greatly and has made for lots of late nights,” Abraham said.
Not only is Abraham figuring out how to juggle the new amount of work, but he is also trying to figure out how to balance schoolwork with his after-school activities and social life. He is involved in many activities including Marching Band, Pep Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Theater.
“It can be hard sometimes because there is a lot of work for my classes and I put lots of time into my extracurricular too,” Abraham said.
Many of Abraham’s clubs take up a lot of time after school. Abraham is involved in sound for the Theater, meaning he has to stay after school for 3 weeks to ensure the show is the best it can be. Still, he finds a way to enjoy the late nights.
“Theater is a fun, exciting, and sometimes carefree space to have fun with friends and just be yourself,” Abraham said.
Not only has Abraham become better at managing everything in his life, but he has also learned lessons he will use in his future. Abraham uses the time he spends in Theater to become better at collaboration.
“I have learned how to work with others and communicate better,” Abraham said.
From taking harder classes to being involved in extracurriculars, Abraham has figured out how to navigate the new amount of work. He continues to enjoy everything he is involved in along with his school work.
