Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: I am planning on attending Ball State University, majoring in audiology and minoring in American Sign Language. I got accepted on November 13th.
Q: What is the long term goal for you and your future degree?
A: A long term goal that I am working towards is to work at a children’s hospital, hopefully in downtown Chicago. Laurie’s Children’s Hospital seems like a good place to work.
Q: Why did you choose audiology?
A: Not many people choose to go into this profession so it’s not that competitive. I feel like working with kids would be really fun and interesting, especially since I want to specialize in cochlear implants. It’s going to be amazing to see the look on their faces when they can hear.
Q: What interests you about minoring in sign language?
A: I chose sign language because I’ve always been interested in it. I have a bunch of cousins that are deaf and family members so it’ll be helpful when being an audiologist. It would be nice to communicate fully with my patients.
Q: What is one of your favorite past times outside of school?
A: One of my favorite pastimes outside of school is listening to my music. It really gives me the chance to decompress after a super stressful day.
Q: How does your study time look with all of the classes that you take this year?
A: Studying is a little hard, but finding smaller chunks of time after work or after school to squeeze in studying is how I am able to keep up with all of my work.
