The Moana film series is a known film series with a new addition. The film Moana 2 was released November 27, 2024 and has been thriving since. The film has a box office worth of $963.5 million with multiple award nominations for the film. These movies are great for a family movie night, hanging out with friends, etc. The Moana 2 soundtrack connects more with the movie’s Polynesian background.

One song in particular is “Manu Vavau.” This song was sung by Maui the demigod and Moana’s ancestors. In the movie Moana, the main character, faces ups and downs with her love for the ocean and her island. Moana is known for her adventures in figuring out “how far she’ll go” upon the waves of the ocean. In the second movie, Moana gets a call and sign from her ancestors to go beyond. Farther than any ancestors or wavefinder has ever gone. During this journey she made friends that will last a lifetime. One being Moni, the storyteller of the Island. The film Moana 2 is a dazzling continuation of the Moana film series.

This film goes deeper into her peoples background and culture and the origin of the “wave finder”. Moana and her village have had the idea that they are the only people in the world and in the ocean. In Moana 2, the film goes deeper to that idea which later reveals another thought that maybe they are not alone.

This is personally one of my favorite Disney movies and the second film just added to that love. Things like the soundtrack, graphics, script, motion pictures, etc made this film a Golden Globe nomination and joy to watch. I rate this movie a 10/10 and highly recommend it.
