It has always been a dream of Robert Spanier’s (10) to start a band, he is putting that dream into reality with his band Atheist Messiah.

“I have a real passion for making music, it’s my favorite thing to do,” Spanier said. “I’ve been in multiple different bands before, my first band was called Atheist Messiah so I feel I’ve gone full circle on this.”

Like many other bands, his band started out with a little bit of inspiration from his favorite band.

“My biggest inspiration for making music has to be a band called Acid Bath,” Spanier said. “They are my favorite band, and they have been for a while now.”

When making a band the choice of what kind of music you want to make is important. The music that Spanier’s band makes is a unique sub-genre of rock.

Spanier’s band uses social media to promote their music.

“We have one song we recorded on our drummer’s phone, you can find it on our Instagram,” Spanier said.

Over time, Spanier and his friends wish to grow their band to new heights and they want to perform on the big stage for an audience of hundreds.
