With the new lunch lines in the “Bulldog Bistro,” cafeteria staff members like Angela Baker have taken on the new role of providing students with drinks and a la carte items.

“We take the students’ orders. We cover their accounts when they come up to the register to make sure they have the money they need, help them deposit money, and help if they have any problems with their account,” Baker said. “We refill and clean everything to keep germs down and keep everybody happy.”

While working the bulldog bistro, Baker sees numerous students throughout the day. Oftentimes forming friendly relationships with the students.

“I’d say the kids are my favorite part of working here. They’re fun and you can have a little friendship with them,” Baker said.

Baker came to work at CPHS in the 2019 school year because of her best friend.

“I came to this school because my best friend of 40 years works here, she is a cook,” Baker said. “I was a foster parent at the time, and my foster children were old enough to where I could put them in preschool, and she said it’ll get me out of the house.”

Baker’s decision to work as a cafeteria staff member gave her a community of kids and coworkers.
