The Crown Point Wrestling Team win another Sectional title

Over the weekend the Crown Point Boys Wrestling Team hosted Sectionals marking the beginning of the State Series.

13 out of 14 of the varsity wrestlers made their way into the finals for sectionals. Crown Point ended with one 3rd place champ, five 2nd place champ and 8 1st place champs. Crown Point won with 311.5 team points, with Lowell in second place with 275.5 team points, and Hanover Central in third with 201 team points. This was Crown Points 23rd consecutive Sectional Title.

The Boys Wrestling Team will be back in action next Saturday on Feburary 8 hosting Regionals at home.

Isabella Valenzuela is a junior at CPHS. This is Valenzuela’s third year on the Excalibur staff. Valenzuela is the Advanced Photo Editor for Excalibur Yearbook. Valenzuela appreciates the design and photography aspects of yearbook. She enjoys going to different games and taking photos. Outside of being in yearbook, Valenzuela is a part of Student Council, Key Club, Mock Trial, CASS, and manages wrestling.

Elayna Hayden, Staff

Elayna Hayden is a sophomore at Crown Point High School. This is Hayden’s second year on the Excalibur staff. Hayden’s love for journalism started when she was in 5th grade. Hayden’s writing skills have progressed immensely throughout the years, and she even writes short stories in her free time. Hayden also enjoys taking pictures of wildlife whenever she is in a new place. Hayden is involved in Student Council and Key Club at the high school. Hayden’s goal is to study environmental and marine science in college, and she hopes to enter a career where she can care for and help the environment in any way she can.
