Their art program brings a lot to the table and due to those peaking interests, she was able to figure out that she would like to go into art therapy. Many people pursue psychology, but there are a select few who venture out into the many different options that psychology can provide. Narrowing it into art therapy she can comfort and help others through an artistic avenue, an avenue that some respond to better than standard and traditional therapy.
After taking psych her sophomore year she knew right away that it was one of her favorite classes she has ever taken, combining it with her love for art that has lasted since birth she came up with art therapy.
Clausings grandmother was a big inspiration for her and her artwork. She is an amazing artist, so she thinks the genes may have made their way to her. Although she doesn’t really share her artwork with her grandmother she was the main influence that got it all started.
After college she plans to work in a hospital with children, however if that does not come to fruition then she would prefer a practice where she is able to utilize her skills there.
From art to psych, many interests can pop up in different areas, and who knows what you’ll find when you combine your talents just like Joanna.
