For years, the Crown Point High School final exam schedule has looked the same and has not changed. Students start off their first day of finals taking exams in periods 1,3, and 6. Then, they take exams in periods 4 and 5, followed by taking exams in periods 2 and 7.

However, the school board along with the CPHS administration have been attempting to change this for years now and have finally seen success. The second semester of the 2025-2026 school year will now use a brand new schedule.
The first day of finals, students will have final exams in periods 1, 2, and 3. In between exams, students will stay in their resource classes. Then, the next two days of final exams will be half days. The second day students will take exams in periods 4 and 5 and the final day students will take exams in periods 6 and 7.
On these half days, students will be dismissed at 11:22 a.m. and will have no lunch.
“With this schedule, students are presented with a better test-taking environment,” assistant principal Justin Fronek said. “In the past, they were long days and these shortened days will help students focus in and perform better.”
This schedule will remain the norm for Crown Point High School for years to come.
