Panagiotis Mattingly (11) has been in BPA, Business Professionals of America, for three years. Joining the co-curricular activity has offered Mattingly opportunities to create bonds and grow in the business world. Mattingly was elected as Region 1 President for the 2024-2025 term.
“Being Region President has been a filling experience. Going through BPA, I had so many people who helped me through the process, and to have as much fun as possible. Being able to further that process and help people in my region was an amazing experience,” Mattingly said.
Furthering his leadership role in the BPA organization, Mattingly ran for State President. At the State Leadership Competition, Mattingly was elected to be the State President for the 2025-2026 term.
“Hearing my name being called as President was a dream come true. I’ve been wanting to help people experience the world of business in a fun, professional way. Being State President would be the best way to enable that,” Mattingly said.
BPA can equip students with future business skills, but it can also develop close friendships. The three years in BPA have introduced Mattingly to some of his closest friends.
“The competitions are mostly about being professional and having fun. Being able to hang out with people who share the same values is amazing. I’ve made a lot of memories that I will cherish for years to come,” Mattingly said.
Overall, being a part of BPA has enabled Mattingly to be involved in business activities that will prepare him for the business world. All while helping him become an important leader to younger members.
