Between school, scouts, and orchestra, Olivia Keyston (11) never has much free time. However, with the short amount of free time Keyston has, she uses it to bake.
“There are time constraints juggling school, scouts, and orchestra. Wherever I have free time, I spend it with my friends and bake with them, it’s relaxing and it reminds me of what matters most,” Keyston said.
Keyston has learned many skills from balancing all of her extracurriculars and hobbies including stress management, multitasking, and a major one being time management.
“I plan out when I’m gonna see people and do different things ahead of time, I’ve pulled back a lot in scouts,” Keyston said.
When Keyston was younger, she used to bake with her family. As she got older she continued baking by herself more frequently.

“I got into baking because I enjoyed making desserts with my family, my mom and grandma most,” Keyston said. “I started baking when I was in middle school, 5th or 6th grade.”
With a supportive family, Keyston enjoys sharing her achievements with her family.
“I have good memories from baking with my family, and it makes them happy when I wanna share what I’ve done,” Keyston said.
After high school, Keyston plans to continue baking by attending culinary school and possibly being a co-owner of a bakery.
