The FCCLA Club, sponsored by Mrs. Leslie Bonner, kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week by delivering candy bars with a note thanking teachers for all they do.

Some FCCLA students shared information about their favorite teachers. “My favorite teacher is Mrs. Bonner because I’ve had her since freshman year. I thought she was really intimidating at first, but she’s actually really nice. I appreciate that she is easy to relate to and she’s really down to earth,” Emma Vivo said.

Alex Mott also chose Mrs. Bonner. “Mrs. Bonner is just really nice and helpful. You can just relax around her. It’s like she never sleeps, she’s always at school doing stuff and always talking to people,” Mott said.

Teacher appreciation week is all about celebrating hardworking and outgoing teachers, and this is just one of the ways FCCLA shows how much they appreciate them.

“My favorite teacher is Miss Cox because I’ve been in her class for a while, and she’s really nice. The way that she connects with her students is what I appreciate most because a lot of teachers don’t get to know their students on a personal level,” Caitlyn Natschke said.

The Crown Point Community School Corporation provided cake on Tuesday and will sponsor a grab-n-go breakfast for all educators on Wednesday, May 10. On Thursday, former CPHS math teacher Susan Mender will provide Jimmy John’s sandwiches for all staff members.
