“The Black Phone” is a thriller/horror type movie set in the late 1970’s. The movie is primarily about a young boy by the name of Finney Blake who, along with five other boys, falls victim to a kidnapper by the name of “The Grabber”. In the basement in which Finney is held, there is a black rotary phone that occasionally rings. Each time Finney answers, he hears the voice of a past victim giving him advice on how to escape. This movie is about two hours in length but it is so worth it. I enjoyed watching it a lot, while there were some mildly confusing parts, it was overall an extremely interesting watch. It makes the viewer feel anxious, suspenseful, and intensely intrigued. I really enjoyed this movie because I was constantly wanting to know what would happen next. The backstories of all the victims were really interesting as well because they provided context to their advice for Finney.

Overall: I really enjoyed this movie and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of movies in the thriller/horror genre.
