The Student Council sponsored the annual blood drive on Nov. 15 for staff and students over the age of 16 who meet the height and weight requirements to give blood to those in need. Donating blood is a different experience for everyone as their bodies may react differently to sharing a pint of blood.
Payton Jorgensen (10) gave blood to help people in need. “Coming in, I was nervous, but now I’m here this isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I’m excited to be helping people,” Jorgensen said.
Chole Gervais (10) helped out during the blood drive by working to make sure everyone was doing okay. “This is my second year working, I like it because it’s helping people, and I like hearing about if people were okay or not while getting their blood drawn,” Gervais said.
Gabriella Arreola (11) has varying thoughts about donating blood. “I’m excited and nervous [to get blood drawn] at the same time. I’ve heard a lot of different stories, and this is my first time in general. I am giving blood because I just feel like there’s a lot of people who need blood sometimes and also to be nice,” Arreola said. Overall students take time out of their school day to donate blood to those in need.
