The Boys Track and Field Team competed against some tough teams at Sectionals on Thursday. Crown Point had a few events qualify for Regionals by placing in the top three or getting a callback based on times. Those events are the 4×800 meter relay, pole vault, the 800 meter run, shotput, and high jump. Our 4×800 meter relay, pole vault, and high jump all placed first. We had a runner who placed third in the 800 meter run to qualify, and we had a thrower place third in shotput. We also had a runner get a callback for the 1600 meter run. Good luck at Regionals to all our qualifiers!

Elayna Hayden is a sophomore at Crown Point High School. This is Hayden’s second year on the Excalibur staff. Hayden’s love for journalism started when she was in 5th grade. Hayden’s writing skills have progressed immensely throughout the years, and she even writes short stories in her free time. Hayden also enjoys taking pictures of wildlife whenever she is in a new place. Hayden is involved in Student Council and Key Club at the high school. Hayden’s goal is to study environmental and marine science in college, and she hopes to enter a career where she can care for and help the environment in any way she can.
