February 20 and 21, the boys wrestling team competed at the IHSAA Boys State Finals. The team traveled to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis to wrestle. There were 11 out of 14 wrestlers who qualified to wrestle at the State Finals. During day 1 of the State Finals, six out of 11 of the wrestlers advanced to day 2. The team had six state placers, and two of the six wrestlers became State Champions. Junior, Clinton Shepherd, was ranked first in the state all season and became a State Champ in the 150 weight class by getting a major decision. This was Shepherd’s second time placing at State. Sophomore Ceasar Salas was also ranked first in the state for his weight class all season and became a State Champ in the 215 weight class by getting a regular decision. Salas is also a two-time state placer. The wrestling team as a whole got third place at the State Finals.
