With the start of school approaching, Bulldog Rush takes action to welcome the incoming freshmen. Bulldog Rush serves to acclimate new students into the building and even gives them an opportunity to explore all the clubs the high school has to offer. All the freshmen take a tour of the school and then join the club representatives in the cafeteria. The new freshmen students get to look around to see if there are any clubs or classes they are interested in joining. The clubs are set up at different tables to explain the clubs’ missions and activities. The freshmen can talk to the members, take home explanatory papers, or even sign up to join. Bulldog Rush is also a great way for the new freshmen to get to interact with new students and teachers.

Elayna Hayden, Excalibur Staff

Elayna Hayden is a junior at Crown Point High School. This is Hayden’s third year on the Excalibur staff. Hayden’s love for journalism started when she was in the 5th grade. Hayden’s writing skills have progressed immensely throughout the years, and she even writes short stories in her free time. Hayden also enjoys taking pictures of wildlife whenever she is in a new place. Hayden is involved in the National Honor Society and does peer tutoring at the high school. Hayden’s goal is to study environmental and wildlife conservation in college, and she hopes to enter a career where she can care for and help the environment in any way she can.

Samantha Uren is a senior at Crown Point High School. Uren has been on the Excalibur yearbook staff for three years now. This year, Uren is Co-Editor-in-Chief, and this is her second year as an editor. She is involved in the Chick-Fil-A Leadership Club, as well as on a student leadership team. She enjoys taking pictures and digital design. Uren’s goals for her future include hopes to go to school for Digital Marketing and communications.
