The Crown Point High School Bulldog Mentor Program kicked off the school year by having its classes do team building activities with one another. In this case, the Bulldog Mentors played Ships and Sailors to allow each other to bond with classmates and to experience roles of listening and leadership. These brilliant students work together to bring peers together, helping them use communication skills and working together to solve problems. “It feels really good to, you know, get out to the different younger classes and really help them out and teach them what it means to be a bulldog,” Senior Mentor Ari Bairaktaris said. The Bulldog Mentors are excellent leaders to the students at Crown Point, giving great examples on how to participate in activities. Having this program in our school is a wonderful way to incorporate communication and taking part in activities for our school. “. . . We get to work with the younger grades and get them a person that’s another student that they can talk to,” Senior Mentor Sage Dorsey said. Being able to assist other students plays a huge part in these student mentors’ jobs. Working as a group in order to bond classmates brings the school together.
