The College and Career fair is a free event that Crown Point High School offers to all of its students. At this event students can interact with representatives from different colleges, or representatives from the different branches of the military. This event allows students of any grade to open their horizons to new opportunities, scholarships and schools. Crown Point High School utilizes this event to help students maximize their success.
Students utilize the College and Career Fair to help them make decisions. For Sophia Himden this event has been great to expose her to new opportunities. “It has helped me because I’ve looked at all the different options and different stuff I could do later on in my future. This is very helpful for me,” Himden said. This event is helping so many kids make decisions for their future.
This opportunity is not only for students though. The college and career fair is also a great resource for college reps too. Brian Sabath from John Carroll University uses this event to make connections with students. “The more that we get to know you as a family, the more that we can help you out and point you in the right direction for all the wonderful things our school has to offer,” Sabath said. College reps use this event as a way to get to know students and help them make the decision that fits them best.
Although some students could be very dead-set on a school this event can still be a great opportunity. For Caitlyn Roldan this is the case. “I definitely think this is a really good experience and opportunity for students to be exposed to schools because they get to talk with college reps and see which schools are perfect and fit for them,” Roldan said. Interacting with different representatives can really open students eyes to what they really want in a school.
All in all the College and Career fair is a great opportunity for students to make connections with colleges early. This is a very useful tool for many students, and can only help students make the right decision for them based on their needs.
