Pro:
A lot of people start to put up their Christmas tree the day after Halloween, although there is still an important holiday in between Halloween and Christmas. Thanksgiving may not be the most popular holiday, but there is still a reason we celebrate it and people should give it more appreciation. If everyone starts to put up their Christmas decorations, people will forget about the importance of Thanksgiving. There is plenty of time after Thanksgiving to celebrate Christmas and it’s important to take time to be grateful for the things you may not appreciate on a daily basis. Once Thanksgiving is over, then it is time to put up the Christmas tree and hang up all the lights outside.
Con:
Every year, after Halloween, people are put into two groups. Ones that decorate for Christmas after Halloween, and those who decorate after Thanksgiving. The people that decorate after Thanksgiving might argue that decorating before neglects the holiday and gives it less meaning. This is not true. People who decorate are not skipping Thanksgiving, just simply excited for Christmas. Decorating for Christmas after Halloween gives people joy and happiness while waiting for the wintery holiday to arrive. Decorating makes the long stretch between the dates more bearable for everyone. So no matter what side someone is on, decorating or not decorating does not make the holiday any more or less important.
