The Crown Point Chamber of Commerce, in association with Crown Point Neighbors Helping Neighbors and SAWDUST Creative Agency, held the first ever Christmas at Bulldog Park. Filled with all types of holiday activities including live reindeer, pictures with Santa Claus, rides in a horse-drawn carriage, ice skating, food vendors, giveaways and many more holiday activities, this event aimed to bring together many businesses in Crown Point and allow them to sponsor a festive community event.
“Coupling business and community is a great way for everyone to win this holiday season,” Crown Point Chamber of Commerce President Ken Michaels said. “Families are brought closer to the businesses we know and love and this is a great way to spread joy this December and raise awareness of our strong sense of community that we are blessed to have here in Crown Point.”
High school students that volunteered helped manage lines, scan tickets and ended up enjoying the event and all the holiday cheer that was present. “I was really proud of how the event brought together families with lots of smiles on their faces,” senior Panagiotis Mattingly said. “It truly showed me how the community can come together and have a great time during this great season.”
The CPHS Chorale even came and sang Christmas songs for the community to enjoy. “I thought the music was very important in promoting holiday cheer because it creates a sense of belonging and connection that enhances empathy,” senior Caden Daniels said. “When we sing our carols, we bring joy and spiritual message to the community.”
Ultimately, this event brought the City of Crown Point together in a way never done before during the holiday season. Around 1,000 attendees showed up to the event and enjoyed all the fun and holiday spirit that was brought by the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce, an organization that is now committed to hosting an annual Christmas event open to all Crown Point citizens who wish to attend.
