Danielle takacs won the award of Coach of the Year and expresses how she felt when she found out.
Good leadership translates in how a team plays, interacts, and competes together. Throughout this year, Danielle Takacs has focused on internal improvements in her team, resulting in being awarded coach of the year.
“I wasn’t expecting it. I was grateful and blessed, and shocked. I was surrounded by my coaching staff, my girls, and all the team members. They all started screaming and huddled around me, and it was a great moment to experience that with them. But realistically, it’s a testament to them and their ability to be dedicated and work hard and also my staff that helps me along the way, so it was incredible,” Takacs said.
Takacs approaches coaching as a learning opportunity to grow as a coach and a person, so she can lead her team better every day.
“I am constantly trying to evolve and change. I always said that the best coaches or teachers are the ones that never stop learning. So every chance I get, if there are people that I know or that I see at a competition or a conference, I am picking their brain and try to learn from them and see what can I do differently or how can I take and apply that from them. We kind of all learn from each other, and I think that’s what gets you to the place that you want to be,” Takacs said.
The success Takacs achieves year after year as both a teacher and coach proves she is also a great student when it comes to learning from her peers.
We would like to congradulate the cheer team as they head down to Disney this coming week for the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship.
