Rico Ardister, CPTV Staff, Excalibur Staff, Lead Writer
Driven by working in the media and production world since he was 7, Rico Ardister, now a Junior at Crown Point High School, is a dedicated member of the CPTV media team, where he channels his creativity into the world of radio and TV. Rico is actively involved in two podcasts on The Dog Radio: The Mystery Machine, which he co-hosts with Rana Stevens, and The Reel Review with Two Regulah Guyz, which is also a co-hosted show with Barandon Boling. These two shows showcase his versatility both on air and behind the scenes. This year marks Rico’s first year joining Excalibur Yearbook, and he has joined Inklings Newspaper this semester, further expanding his involvement in student journalism. Beyond media, he is a passionate global warming activist and a political voice on social media platforms, using his influence to advocate for environmental action and engage in important conversations. What began as an appreciation for storytelling has become a passion and an excessive outlet for him. With a blend of outgoing charm and thoughtful introspection, Ardister is focused on honing his media production and speaking skills to share compelling stories and explore new ideas with a diverse audience.
Alexus Johnson, Excalibur Staff
Alexus Johnson is a freshman at Crown Point High School. This is her first year on the Excalibur yearbook staff. Johnson loves writing and taking pictures. Johnson loves all of her friends and cherishes her memories with them. Johnson adores playing softball after school and wants to pursue her softball career at Tennessee. Johnson is in honors English and AP Human Geography and plans on trying to get into Geometry.
Aiden Garcia, Excalibur Staff
Aiden Garcia is a junior at Crown Point High School. This is Garcia’s second year on the Excalibur yearbook staff. Garcia took photojournalism freshman year and found a passion for photography, which led him to join the yearbook staff. Garcia has found joy in music and art at a young age. Garcia enjoys hanging out with his friends and spending time with the people he loves. He plans on going to college to study pre-law.
Duaa Khan, Copy Editor
Duaa Khan is a junior at CPHS. Khan is the Copy Editor and the Multimedia Editor for Excalibur yearbook. Khan is involved in many activities around the school, such as Mock Trial, UCC, and is an NHS director. Khan is also the host of the psychology-based show “CP in Session.” Khan is involved in HUM, a northwest Indiana-based cultural dance and performance group. In her free time, Khan loves to read, watch movies, and listen to music. She plans to study psychiatry and become a professor later in her career.
