Crown Point’s Community Night lived up to its name Friday night by bringing students of all ages together to get back into the Friday Night Lights routine and even honored an up-and-coming sport—flag football. Positivity ran rampant Friday night. Compliments were echoed, players ran out onto the field with applause embracing them, and the band and color guard’s halftime performance received high accolades.
On this night, the football teams showed their love for their community. Players spent quality time with the youngsters of CPHS playing fun mini-games and teaching them the proper way to throw a football. These young kids showed off their CP pride through their festive face paint and tattoos from players of the JV team.
Senior varsity football player Amir Plowden said, “Being a role model to the kids and bringing the community together is empowering because we know that we can make a positive impact on the young ones.”
Community Night left the players feeling proud of the impact they had on the future generation of Bulldogs.
Senior cheerleader Lily Campbell, ”Helping the new cheerleaders ready themselves for the season and seeing the excited faces of the little ones feels inspiring.”
