Torres reflects on how she got her internship
Alyssa Torres

Interning is no easy task, but Alyssa Torres (12) made it possible with her dedication and her interest in law.

“I intern at Stracchi Law Group,” Torres said. “It’s a personal injury, criminal, and civil law firm; they deal with all those types of cases, and this year I’m helping them out.”

Torres’s passion for law and all things related led her to want to pursue this internship with Stracchi. She had also known people who previously interned there, and so she became interested in working with them. Once Torres made up her mind, she set out to get it.

“I found the email for the office manager, emailed and asked if they were looking for interns, told them that I was going to be a senior, and I also told her a little about myself,” Torres said. “She said she was interested, and then we set up an interview and I got it.”

Not only had Torres acquired a lucrative internship, but she also attained one she was extremely interested in. Torres plans to use this internship on her college applications and take what she’s learned into college and law school.

“I want to use this internship to help me with college applications and to apply what I learn in class,” Torres said. “When I get into college, I plan to study political science. I’m not sure where yet, but after college, I definitely want to go to law school.”

In conclusion, Torres’s passion for law has led her to pursue a lucrative internship to help propel her career as a lawyer.
