Teacher and Inklings advisor, Jennifer Bianchi faces the everyday challenge of teaching hundreds of students. However, she loves to guide each individual towards the right direction. Bianchi teaches a variety of English-based classes, such as beginning journalism and speech classes.
Bianchi helps students learn a variety of skills throughout all of her classes. In her speech classes, she helps students present with the intention of informing or persuading.
“Quite simply, it is to raise students’ confidence levels in public speaking because they will then apply these skills in the future,” Bianchi said.
In addition to teaching her classes, Bianchi is also the advisor for the school newspaper, Inklings. She leads her students to their various goals and ensures they meet their deadlines.
“For the high school newspaper class, my job is to lead our students to produce four print publications while maintaining our publications website, Crown Town Media, and also produce social media content for the high school,” Bianchi said.
Even though deadlines can be tough, Inklings remains an opportunity for students to engage with different stories across the school and enhance their journalistic skills. Bianchi loves to see her students take pride in their accomplishments, showing how much their efforts paid off.
“People are no longer doing many print items. So, it is exciting to me for students to have a document or a booklet, or in this case, a magazine that they can actually hold and go back and look at the work. And not just the work they did, but the hard work it took to get to that point,” Bianchi said.
Throughout all of her different classes, Bianchi finds joy in helping her students, no matter the situation. She finds a place of belonging in Crown Point as she inspires the continued success of her students.
“I have always enjoyed working with students, and I’m fortunate to be working with students here at Crown Point High School who are really driven to be the best that they can be at what they’re doing,” Bianchi said.
Bianchi finds progress and growth in each and every one of her students. She loves to see her students achieve their goals. Whether Bianchi is teaching journalism, helping students with their public speaking, or leading students in publishing the school newspaper, she is always guiding her students in the right direction.
