Teacher Amanda Stillman

Stillman describes her love towards her family and the hope of success she has for her students

Amanda Stillman, math teacher, Chick-fil-A Leadership Club Sponsor, and former Girls’ Basketball coach, works with the everyday challenge of taking care of two toddlers at home and teaching many students with different learning abilities.

However, she always makes sure her students are in a good mental health head space. Stillman makes sure her students are all in check and understanding the work by getting the help they need.

“My number one responsibility is making sure all of my kids are taken care of. What I mean by this is just making sure they’re asking questions, reaching out, understanding the concepts, and making sure they’re in a good mental health head space,” Stillman said.

Stillman is also a big part of Chick-fil-A Leadership Club by being one of the main sponsors. Stillman enjoys being a part of this club because it is something that is not necessarily a part of school.

“My favorite part of being the sponsor for Chick-fil-A Leadership Club is being able to get to know our upperclassman, also being in a non academic setting with less pressure in the environment and having fun,” Stillman said.

Stillman has many favorite parts of getting the chance to work in CPHS, some including the involvement with the students and community.

“I believe we do a good job of making a big school seem really small. There’s clubs for all kids who would like to get involved. I never actually had a plan b. I always said how I love computer science and wanted something to do with math, but I really couldn’t imagine myself doing something that wasn’t involved with my kids,” Stillman said.

Overall, Mrs Stillman’s dedication to both her students and her family shows the heart she puts into everything she does. Whether it’s guiding students through math, supporting them in their mental health, sponsoring leadership opportunities, or spending time with her daughters, she continues to impact lives in meaningful ways. Her passion for teaching and her care for others make her not only an outstanding teacher but also a role model within the CPHS community.
