Nick Bruno is a Physical Education and Health teacher here at CPHS. Bruno comes to school every morning to achieve his goal of keeping all the students safe, while also ensuring they have fun.
Bruno also coaches the boys’ Freshman Football and Track teams. Bruno enjoys coaching Freshman Football and watching them grow. Bruno also wishes all his athletes the best in and outside of school.
“Interacting with the kids, teaching them skills that not only help them in their sport, but also try to teach them life lessons that’ll carry on outside of the school atmosphere. For football, it’s their first year they get to play as one big group, one class. It’s actually the one time they’ll really get to do that without anybody else being involved. Then, just to see how they grow this year, but then the players turn it into the next three years after this,” Bruno said.
Having support is key to succeeding in one’s dreams. The environment of the school makes it enjoyable for Bruno to work here.
“I think we have such great staff, and the culture in the school just creates a great environment to work in, as well as our community support. It’s second to none. I went to school here, so it’s a special place for me, and I enjoy it. The kids I get to teach and coach throughout the years have made a huge impact on how much I love working here, too,” Bruno said.
Bruno has always wanted to be a teacher, especially at CPHS. Bruno moved forward with his life and finally achieved his goal.
“I went here, and in my goal, once I wanted to become a teacher and eventually get to work here and get back to what I went through. Luckily for me, I was able to start here right away in a smaller role as a study hall teacher, a long-term sub. And then I worked my way into a teaching physician,” Bruno said.
Bruno enjoys keeping a relaxed and fun environment, while also keeping it safe and still teaching what needs to be taught.
“I try to keep it very relaxed and just allow them to know that it’s a safe environment. We’re focused on learning, but it’s also a place where we can have fun. We could have those moments where it’s not just all serious and about what we’re learning, but it’s a place where they can be themselves,” Bruno said.
Bruno has always had a passion to teach at CPHS, and now that he gets to, he does not want to stop. Overall, Bruno spends his time putting effort into teaching and coaching students.
