Marty Supreme, starring Timothee Chalamett, is an unexpected hit at the box office.
Walking into the theater after hearing raving reviews on Tiktok, there were high expectations. Those expectations were definitely exceeded.
Set in 1950, the vintage aesthetic of all sets and costumes were spot on for the era it supposed to take place in. It really allowed audiences to feel that much more immersed in the film.
The cinematography and costumes were incredibly accurate to the era in which the movie took place in, and the plot was just as good.
Throughout the movie, there were many twists that were completely unexpected. The adventures Supreme encounters throughout the movie are unlike any other seen. From the constant travels taking place, to the emotional turmoil he experiences, the plotline is very entertaining.
With so many recent movies revolving around sports like football or basketball, the movie’s focus on table tennis was refreshing. It showed audiences a new perspective on the sport without the whole movie just about table tennis and the pure competitiveness within it.
In all, Marty Supreme left audiences in awe of the writing and the behind-the-scenes work. Personally, the movie is 5 out of 5 stars, a true must-watch.
