Recently, many could not scroll TikTok without seeing their favorite influencer’s post with Bloom Nutrition in the background. This began as a harmless product placement for individuals; however, it shifted to exposing underlying issues with the product. Once consumers began to check the ingredient list, questions began to arise about this product.
If you are not familiar with the product, Bloom Nutrition is a green drink mix powder. The company claims that it is intended to support gut health, energy, hormone balance, and bloating. It has recently become viral over the last few years.
This now leaves the question: what is so wrong with Bloom Nutrition? Bloom is composed of many different blends. The only problem is that they only have to list how much of the blend is present, not how much of every ingredient. When a company is promoting all the good ingredients in the powder but fails to say how much of each ingredient is actually present, it can be quite suspicious. Bloom claims that it is a great source of greens, but dietitians noted that the amount present was quite lackluster. Despite being “great for you,” according to the company, only two vitamins and minerals are listed: iron and Sodium. Also, only 7 of the 30-plus superfoods are organic. Finally, Bloom contains maltodextrin in most of its flavors. This helps to prolong shelf life but can also be used as a filler ingredient.
Why the outrage? Why not just refuse to buy and drink Bloom? The outrage comes from people who are frustrated with brands and companies lying to consumers’ faces. Bloom claims to be better for you, but they do not tell the entire truth about the number of ingredients. Many are becoming frustrated that massive companies can lie to consumers and still make tons of money.
Bloom Nutrition has become more controversial to many consumers because this product may not be revealing the whole truth about the ingredients in the product.
