Four Day School Week Could Result In Student and Faculty Satisfaction

During the school week, students and teachers alike do not have enough time to be social and make relationships with their fellow peers. The two-day weekend is simply not enough time for students to connect with their families and friends while also participating in extracurriculars. By introducing the four-day school week, and making the weekend three days, students will have more time to participate in any and all activities.

If the Crown Point Community School Corporation (CPCSC) chooses to go to the four-day school week, what would happen? CPCSC would potentially save money. Then they could reallocate those funds to sports and clubs that need it. This would create a better, more well-rounded school, allowing for clubs and/or sports that are usually outshined to shine.

The shorter school week could also potentially lead to better attendance records. Crown Point High School’s attendance is not the best, especially among the senior class. The saying “senioritis” is a real thing, and seniors opt not to come to school. If there was a longer rest period, the three-day weekend, then seniors would likely be more well-rested and ready for the school week.

With the potential for a four-day school week looming over our heads, I personally would love to have a longer break, and I think almost everybody would agree with me.
