Pro: Starting school earlier in the morning is important for many reasons. First of all, many full-time jobs require waking up early for a shift, so when a student graduates and enters the workforce, this habit will already have been established, and the adjustment from learning to working will not be one of difficulty. Additionally, schools introducing the healthy habit of waking up early encourages a healthy sleep-cycle. Since there is more time in the day after school ends, students may partake in other extracurricular activities. This increases tiredness, and by extension, students should fall asleep earlier in the night with enough hours of sleep to be fully rested.
Con: School starting early in the morning has more cons than pros. Starting so early leaves students with insufficient sleep. This leads to teens not performing their best in school and leaves them exhausted by the end of the day. In the teenage years sleep is crucial because of all the changes they go through. The other side says that teens can go to sleep earlier to solve this issue. However, this is not a possibility for many students. Many students in high school have extracurriculars and jobs. Not to mention they also have schoolwork. All of this leaves teens with little free time during the week. They cannot abandon their duties to go to sleep earlier for school, which is what causes lack of sleep in many teenagers.
