A Bigger School Can Lead to Challenges Finding Community, How Can Students Find Where They Belong?

Within a bigger school, it is imperative for students to feel they are seen and heard, and with Crown Point High School being so large, it is difficult to feel both. With the clubs, classes, and sports that Crown Point High School has to offer, students have an opportunity to feel recognized and acknowledged.

High school is a time when students figure out their futures; and what they want to do when they enter the real world. This is not always an easy task and the pressures of growing up can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially in a large school. Fortunately, in a school like Crown Point, students have ample opportunities to explore possible interests. Whether they want to join the trades, go into the military, or go to college, Crown Point High School offers classes, clubs, and resources that allow students to get a glimpse of what these career choices may entail and what their future may hold. It also allows students to network and find people with similar interests, which helps to create a community where they feel they belong.

It is important for students to find their home in the school, and to know that they have a safe place as well as a person to go to. This home is different for everybody, whether it be in a classroom, a club, or a sport.

Crown Point High School is a place where students can find a home, perhaps sometimes, they just need to figure out where they belong.
